Inspired by a pin....

Ok - I never really got into the Facebook games. Not a big fan of WII games. Online Poker - nope.  But I have found a serious way to waste time on the internet. It is the creative girls' version of internet P O R N. And its called PINTEREST.  Uh - huh.

My College Girl has one too and she requested a cowl -

Well via text and pins and email and facebook - we discovered this pin.......

I read the pattern and read the pattern then I bought yarn --- On sale at hobby lobby (this week Hancock Fabrics has Lion Brand on sale for 30% off)

I crocheted this adaptation in two evenings about three hours of work. I did mine in all double crochet. In a rich chocolate brown and very bulky yarn.

Then I dug in my stash for buttons......

Here they all are laying on the sofa. I definitely had a preference for me. Those to the far right are vintage bakelite buttons from The Man's Grandmother's stash. (I have stuff from a long line of hoarders - just saying.)

But the College Girl has her own ideas.  and....

These golden ones won in her mind. I sewed them on and tried this lovely on myself......

With buttoning and twisting you can vary the way this fits on so many ways. Personally I would wear it most often like this. I tend to wear my jackets open in front and this is so freaking warm. but you can twist it up to fit closer to the original picture. I am loving this so very very much.

For the record - the College Girl was a bit ambivalent about it when she saw it. However - this will not be a wasted project at all --- if she decides she not likey --- I DO.

Last but not least if you want to have a look see at my pinterest boards -- traipse off over here. But you cannot say you have not been adequately warned - major time wasting possibilities exist on this site.

black and white

and brown all over ----

I've been painting canvases - black and dark brown. For days.

Now I am cutting and gluing word art. Yup - the "normal" on this is a tad crooked. I was working when I was tired.

This is my current favorite......

What think????

At a loss....

I just got word that a long time customer and friend passed away suddenly last night. He was close to my age. I am sad. I am reflective. I am reminded again that NONE of us is guaranteed that we have tomorrows.

Please hold your loved ones tight. Please do not settle for a mediocre life.

I have big plans for tomorrow - Sure I'll do that next week - I can't wait for the weekend to get here.

We all do it. Then something like this happens and the priority is front and center again.

So I'm not gonna say too much about these pictures. But MaggieGrace is working on stuffs.

Vintage Lace - glued to Bible pages from a "free" box seriously damaged Bible. A page from Psalms is being used. It always amazes me to see God work. The Psalm that shows through this wing is Psalm 30.  Specifically this verse

"weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." Psalm 30:5

I glue and trim and they now look like this.

I think this angel's name is going to be "Memory"

Hug a loved one --- tell the you love them.

Have a blessed day.

disappointed again........

Last night in northeast Georgia it was foggy. The kind of fog that many would describe as pea soup.

I drove home from the grocery store in awe of how the landscape changes with that kind of fog. Not able to see many homes from the road, just a glow from the security lights.

I worried about the Softball Princess driving back to school. (she made it just fine).

There was also a big ol' moon glowing through the trees.

I took this picture through my pecan trees when I got got home and sent it to my friend with this description "horror movie foggy in georgia, big moon and skeleton trees. Beautiful night in an eerie way."

You know what I am describing - the kind of foggy night you see on the big screen like the picture below that I blantanty swiped from a google image search.

So why the post title of disappointed --- well --- it's like this. I sat and I waited and waited for what seemed like hours and

He damn well never came out of the fog......

Have a wonderful Monday --- Oh and Mr. Depp --- I'm still waiting.

Just Breathing

There has not been a crisis.

There is no huge announcement pending.

I have just taken a few steps back from the stresses in life and am taking care of "mama" - that would be me.

I'm breathing. I'm cleaning. I'm focusing on some really great things in my life right now.

Please be patient with me --- I'll be back.
