A new life together at the start of the year...

I would love to introduce to you Kevin and Brooke Lucas. My lovely neice and her groom. Snapshot without flash from yesterday. This was taken in Conyers Presbyterian Church. A beautiful sanctuary - still decorated for the holidays. A beautiful setting for a wedding - a wedding that was pulled together in 4 days. This sweet couple will have a difficult start - he goes back to base on Friday - then onto Fort Bragg, NC to be deployed probably to Iraq. She goes back to school and will finish up her education. Hopefully they will have time to be spouses before he deploys - with the miltary you really never know. This however does provide a more secure future for her should something happen to Kevin.

She was a beautiful bride. The parents were understandably exhausted but happy for them. It was a wonderfully simple and beautiful wedding. The catering was wonderful, the flowers were stunning, and at the center of it all was a quiet faith that this was the right choice for each of these young people. They are not only husband and wife, they have been and are still each others best friend. Hold on to that Brooke, those words and those of the minister will be needed often in the future. P.K.R. - the advice of the minister - to always remember these words in their relationship - we all need to as well - Patience, Kindness, Rejoicing. I am so happy we were able to be there.

Required photo of the brothers. Dennis - if you still read here, you can right click this one and print it. Charles (the man at my address) and his little brother Alan (father of the bride). Absolutely no doubt they are related - their baby brother looks just like them too. We all enjoyed remembering that shoes were a required article for groomsmen. Alan forgot shoes (showed up in flipflops) at my wedding and had to wear Charles which were way too small nor did they match. And a picture of my monster and me. My eyes are not really that blue. No explanation for that - Abby refused to participate in the picture taking. Both girls were really pretty all dressed up. Brooke even appreciated that panty hose were worn - inside joke here.

Brooke and Kevin, we wish you the very best as you go forward in your life.

Have a wonderful day, ya'll
